The Markit Flash Eurozone Composite Output Index, based on around 85% of normal monthly survey replies, rose for the tenth month in a row to reach 54.2 in December, its highest reading since October 2007. The level of business activity has now risen in each of the past five months. Growth was again led by robust gains in manufacturing production, while the rate of expansion in service sector activity also accelerated.
