Based on preliminary data, world trade volume contracted by a 0.7% in the month of January 2010 from the previous month, following a revised increase of 3.9% in December 2009 (initial estimate: 4.8%), according to the CPB Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis. World industrial production grew by 1.2% in January 2010.
